When I have this problem I hit the refresh button and it seems to move everything on. Have you tried that?

Troy,

I do consider them brethren and have stated so repeatedly in a number of posts and threads. Having said that, I believe that they are teaching some doctrines that are distracting and others that are destructive.

If pointing out areas of disagreement is what you mean by taking pot shots, I guess I'm guilty as charged.

Regarding the floating axe head and the parting of the red sea, I couldn't find your specific comment in the thread but I believe I answered this elsewhere using the illustration of Balaam's donkey. Though Balaam's donkey talked, God was not in that instance establishing a norm for how believers are to receive revelation from Him. We shouldn't all begin to go try to listen to our barnyard animals. We have many teachers today building practices around isolated incidents in scripture. The things that are meant to be norms are repeated and we are given specific instructions with regard to their proper function.

Kieth

It is good to hear that the purpose is not to condemn IHOP. It just seems to me that if they are misrepresenting themselves for whatever reason that they would not truly have the Spirit of Christ. Once again I must say I am relieved to see that even though there has been a lot of pot shots taken at these people you still consifer them to be beloved bretheren.

No reply to my parting of the seas or my axe head comment. I figured someone would be able to help me understand why that kind of thing would not be sciptural to believe for. I am thinking about doing a mens ministry training on axe head floating for begginers. HAHAHAHAHAHA somebody stop me !!!!!!!

Troy,

On 3/24 you wrote:

"I have seen a lot of scriture thrown around but none of itso far has convinced me thqt IHOP is a satanic organization leading people to hell."

Who has made this claim? Please do not misrepresent the discussion. The issue is whether or not IHOP is teaching false doctrine not whether or not they are completely satanic. Most of the people that they deal with are already believers so they will not be leading people to hell. I do believe that they are causing the faith of many to be sidetracked away from the pure milk of the word and into non-biblical doctrines.

Matthew,

You wrote:

"but I sincerely believe everyone on this list is called in this generation to radically follow Jesus."

Well of course we are. Believers are called in every generation to radically follow Jesus. And we didn't need a Joel's Army prophecy to tell us that . Jesus already said that when He told us to take up our cross daily and follow Him. This is a far cry from all the nonsense that has been taught under Joel's Army.

I think you are trying to baptize the teachings concerning Joel's Army and reinterpret them according to a Biblical scheme. But you need to actually listen to what they are saying. This teaching is simply not biblical. You have yet to be able to provide a solid biblical basis for any of it.

I don't know if you are still reading since the Holy Spirit told you to back away but I decided it was worth a shot.

I can tell you that in a few years you will most likely be very disillusioned. Contact me then.

David, very sorry that you had the experience you did. You raised more questions than I can answer on the blog. But if you would like to dialogue you can write me at keith.jonah@gmail.com

earlier I made a statement that I believe might have been incorrect. I said, "I sincerely believe everyone here is called to be in Joel's Army." upon closer inspection of the prophecies, they specifically state that this army of believes will be raised up AFTER 1973 and they are not above the age of thirty. so I am incorrect about that. however, if you generalize Joel's Army to be about simply being passionate about prayer, fasting, being willing to operate in signs and wonders, radically following Jesus, then yeah everyone here is called to do that. you don't have to call that Joel's Army. you don't even have to like that phrase. but I sincerely believe everyone on this list is called in this generation to radically follow Jesus.

good to meet you David. I am sorry that you were raised in an abusive Charismatic environment. as Bill Johnson says regarding these, "the foolishness of a few has made it harder for the rest of us to navigate this adventure". I am truly sorry for that and I ask for forgiveness on behalf of all the Body of Christ that you were exposed to that growing up. I assure you this is not normal Charismatic behavior or Christian behavior. I do believe in using anointing oil in accordance with James 5 and also rebuking demons just as Jesus did. this is not superstition, it's simply walking out Scripture. I know you've become disillusioned with a lot of Scripture and the claims that Christ made about Himself. perhaps you have been into the Gnostic writings that were made famous by the Davinci Code? I love you brother and wish I could get together with you and have coffee. you can write me at mwsmith33@yahoo.com. as for me, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me this morning that I needed to back out of this forum, that it was a distraction. I am thankful for what I learned hear regarding opposers to the Joel's Army prophecies, etc. I will weigh carefully all of this criticism. I am attending a conference on April 5 called "Open Heavens" here in Dallas, TX (I live in Ft. Worth). Bob Jones will be one of the speakers. I will personally ask him myself where he stands now on the prophecies, since he's the one who originally received them. God bless you all and I love you in Christ.
